Nintendo Mobile Games - Oh, the Possibilities

This is a list of ideas that poured into me over night (some anyways), and I had to get them on here right away. They seemed so cool, it seems too crazy not to share this with the net. Anyways all of these are obviously devoid of major information because they are both ideas, and I don’t want to ruin the possibility for these to happen. But here is the list of titles so far I see coming from Nintendo in mobile. I also kept in mind pay structures and pointed out options for each one, even though really every game could follow the typical free-2-play grind of level maps, but many of these would do better elsewhere.

Nintendo Retro Arcade

A game like other retro themed collections before it. A room where the gamer is sitting in front of his console surrounded by classics the user can pay small transactions to download and play. Like an emulator, but you would have to give a freebie to get things going. The possibilities with this would obviously be tied to Nintendo properties. Nintendo could even theme them after each of their own consoles; NES, SNES, N64, GBA, etc.

NES Remix: Across the Shelf

For obvious reasons, this would be a great game to operate in the free-2-play style like mentioned above with Mobile Arcade. This could be a collection that spans multiple games and breaking them down onto a smaller scale so each challenge was like a mission, leaving you hundreds of challenges. This one is an obvious decision on Nintendo’s part. And it would obviously have to have a revenue style similar to Candy Crush and games like it.

Mario Kart Mobile Circuit

With tilt-controls already functional on mobile phones and devices, this one is a no brainer. Expect a version coming, fast. With new tracks, or rehashes. Maybe they may even redistribute a few from DS and 3DS titles to save time, but this is happening. It wouldn’t make sense not to.

Super Smash Bros. “Versus” Tag!

An idea I had for a sweet One on One version of Super Smash Bros. Where like the Injustice, and Marvel: Conquest of Champions games, the player would participate in bouts. With simple touch controls, the player could compete in a multitude of challenges and online fights against other players. This could even have Amiibo support with the afore-mentioned cards. Many possibilities for this range from One-on-One fights, to even Tag Battles, and possibly four-player battles, offline at least, if not online as well. I would charge for this one, and offer packs of extra characters, but I wouldn’t ask too much or people won’t pay it...

Kirby: The Mini-Rainbow Curse

Another no-brainer. With Amiibo support, this game could be a secondary dose of fun for Kirby fans on the Mobile devices. The controls would emulate Kirbys pattern of course, but even then, adding power-ups and the like to the game in ways only Kirby can. This one would sell well. Yeah not a free-2-play.

Punch Out Championship!!

Another classic Nintendo franchise with a reimagining for mobile. With simple touch controls and tilt functions, this could be a fun romp through an old flame for many Nintendo gamers. Need I say more? Glass Jaw, I mean Joe anyone? How about finally introducing Punch-Out Multiplayer?! Hence the name Championship. This could retain the same top-down style as original, or even opt for the Wii converted cameras. Either way, a true mobile classic.

Animal Crossing: My Village

Another obvious choice for either free-2-play or a pay structure with add-on packs. The town could be themed based on your region; America, Africa, Russia, Japan, etc. and even offer a few alternatives. Giving the player total customization like in the Sims is necessary for a game like this. And due to ambitious size, this one could be one of the first big projects from Nintendo. The opportunities are endless.

Captain Toad: The Mini Mobile Treasure Hunt

For fans of this game on WiiU and the meta-game on Super Mario 3D World, this one makes sense. It seems like the mobile phones would be perfect for this charming game. Especially with the idea of being able to shrink the challenges, or maybe tie a unique dimension to the game that is only on mobile. Tilt, collect, level up, recharge, move on… They could even build the level map like Mario Bros. games already do. Good business.

Pokemon: Global Evolved

This is a game I had ambitiously come up with 6 years ago (before mobile gaming’s rise), and it will probably never happen (even though mobile makes it totally possible). So instead of putting the idea out there. I will just keep it to myself and know it would have been quite possibly the greatest mobile game in existence, if not a whole new way to play games entirely… Hell I may have even struck a chord with someone’s brain patterns at Nintendo, this is THAT good. Maybe one day, or Nintendo can just call me… Whichever, I’m on Twitter @TheDesolate_9 incase you guys want to make real money.

And YES I have a written game concept document. Better bring that NDA to the meeting, LOL.

Mario vs Donkey Kong Tipping Stars

With Tipping Stars simplifying things further. This one is another great opportunity on the mobile market. Another candidate for either free-2-play or a pay structure of any kind. Cross-Play even? Unlocks on console versions? Possibilities, and packs would be endless… Not to mention this is a series that could port very well to mobile from here on out.

Excitebike: Get Physical!

This is nothing more than a wish. A physics based motorcycle game like Trials Frontier with an Excitebike coat of paint. And no I wouldn’t expect you to challenge milk crates, construction yards, and haphazard lumber placements or poorly timed jumps… It would be physics-based but still feel like moto-cross racing as Excitebike always has been. And hey a track editing pack and a community of designers would be pretty cool. This one could even translate to consoles as well.

F-Zero: Full-Tilt

HaHaHa. Like this will ever happen. Nintendo seems so afraid to touch F-Zero after “X” when in reality that was the best one yet in my opinion. Just because you released it on a silly looking purple box, doesn’t mean ignore the franchise. It will sell Iwata. It will sell. And it may help your issues with the WiiU version as well… K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Satoru. Tilt-functions, port Mario Kart, the mechanics will work.

New Super Mario Bros. Mobile

Again with the obvious, O.K. so I’m full of surprises. Anyways whether one player missions, or mobile co-op, I’m pretty sure mobile can handle it. Even if not, this one will happen for well… Obvious reasons… Its friggin’ Mario. Oh and you could do this in the free-2-play flavor, or a more comprehensive package with a pay-first structure, just not too much.

Nintendogs: Around Town

Again, I have pointed out another awesome opportunity. Think of how many people would have played this like it was intended if they had it on a smartphone instead of DS or even 3DS. Those are hard to hide at work. A sure hit with everyone of all ages. This one is another no-brainer. And it would even work in the free-2-play realm with a few basic pups, adding more costs money. I have some neat ideas on this one too… But it would reveal too much and kill it… Nintendo? You listening?

Nintendo Clinic (Dr. Mario - Luigi Mobile)

Another one on the obvious train. It even has adopters on the mobile market already. Let’s make it official Nintendo, bring both of the brothers into a new game. Introduce Dr. Peach, Dr. Toad, Dr. Bowser, and more… No I won’t dare say HER name… But something tells me she would be in this game. You could release new challenges and viruses for each of the characters, you could even do this free-2-play with add-on packs for new characters. Another obvious for Amiibo support.

Pokemon Shuffle Mobile

We discussed this one in my other Nintendo NX and mobile post here. An obvious port to mobile would do this match-three franchise some good. Keep the pace it sets. They could however adjust the revenue structure so it actually makes money.

Pokemon Bank Mobile

Another port from 3DS which would make total sense for mobile, especially if more Pokemon games come out on the mobile devices. It doesn’t even have to work in the same way, it could be a digital PokeDex, trade Pokemon between games, etc. The possibilities are endless.

Metroid Pinball Mobilized

A remake of the Nintendo DS game would make total sense in mobile. It matches the screen format, and has tilt function. Mobile taught us how to simplify pinball, and it works, GREAT. Time for Nintendo to dust off this idea and give it another go. Free-2-Play or pay structures abound, this one will not fail.

Mario Party Mobile Tour

Ok, Ok, Ok… I’m noticing a pattern too… Just call me Captain Obvious! “Mario Party Mobile Tour” has a nice ring to it. Let’s hope they don’t follow suit with Island Tour on 3DS… I feel like I had to go there Nintendo.

Mario Picasso (Mario Paint Mobile)

So I’m done recognizing me pointing out obvious candidates. Someone has too. But seriously, a new Mario Paint title on mobile would be awesome! Especially with mini-game challenges or maybe even like “Draw Something” only Nintendo skinned, would even be cool. But don’t forget free-paint mode Nintendo. A community site online where we can share and view people’s artwork. A link to Instagram, Flickr, and other social sites would be cool too. Definitely Free-2-Play with a bonus add-on structure would be appropriate, like “Draw Something”.

Legend of Zelda: Link’s Escape

And saving the obvious choice for last, again with that word! AHHHHH! Link running like Sonic Dash, or SpiderMan Unlimited. The runner sells, keep it packed with fresh content, it will sell well, and keep on selling. One themed in Zelda coat of paint with serious style, would be an instant success. If done right. Another big project for Nintendo, but it better be polished. And it has to start with Link in a Cave, being handed the sword has to happen.
